Job Title:                 Support Worker (Evenings & Weekends)

Reporting to: Support Manager

Salary/Wage:           £10,920 per annum

Hours:                    Avg. 21hrs per week over a four week period, 1 weekend & 1 weekday shift per week, plus an extra shift once every 4 weeks

Working in our newly refurbished 27 bed accommodation service, this role will be part of a support team offering 24/7 all year round to some of the most vulnerable and complex people in the region.

The support team is led by a services manager, supported by three case managers and a number of other support workers. This role will be as part of that wider team. Each client has a support plan mapped out as they arrive, and the support worker will need to ensure that the client is supported in making that plan happen.

In addition, being a busy public space, the support worker will have to respond to issues and problems that occur throughout the building.

The shifts are based around a long weekend shift and one day in the week. The weekend shift is typically from 8.30am til 8pm, while the weekday shift is typically from 2pm til 10pm. However these times may vary according to the needs of the role. In addition to these, there will be an additional week day shift once per month.

Staff members working beyond these hours are eligible for TOIL or overtime subject to agreement with the manager.

Flexibility in the role is essential as the building is staffed by two staff members at all times and the support workers often have to work around the needs of clients and each other.

The successful candidates must be able to demonstrate effective skills in aiding and supporting our clients, be a flexible worker able to fulfil the varied needs of the role and be a positive personality, able to handle the demands of what can be a challenging environment.
