Ways to Donate

How to Donate

We are extremely grateful to everyone that chooses to support Wirral Ark and below are the ways in which you can support us.

Donate Goods
Furniture

We are happy to take furniture such as two seater sofas, drawers, bedside cabinets, tables, chairs, etc. They should be in good condition, with no damage. We are unable to take any items which have been left outside for any period of time. If you wish to donate items, please email photographs of the items to  enquiries@wirralark.org.uk and we will get back to you within 3 working days, to arrange collection. We are experiencing high volumes of offers at the moment so please bear in mind that we may not always be able to take items that are donated due to limited storage space and the high volumes of enquiries we receive.

Electricals

We do take small electricals, such as irons, kettles, microwaves, vacuum cleaners, toasters, small TV’s. These should all be fully working and have no damage to the cables. The items should be clean.

Bedding/Towels

We are unable to take blankets, bedding and towels at the moment.

Food

We always welcome donations of food, including tinned or canned goods, long life milk, bottled drinks, packets and dry goods. Donations of food can be dropped at our reception at Mary Cole House. If you have any queries about fresh food or items close to ‘use by’ dates, please telephone reception and the staff will be able to advise if we are able to accept it. We are unable to accept food that it past its use by dates, due to Health & Safety and Food Safety legislation.

Toiletries: We are always grateful for donations of toiletries including shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, feminine hygiene products, etc.

Clothing

We are unable to take any clothing at the moment.

Leave a gift in your Will

One way you can support Wirral Churches’ Ark Project, for the homeless, is by leaving a legacy in your Will. By leaving a legacy, you can help us to be there for people who are homeless, when you are no longer here.

To include a legacy to Wirral Churches’ Ark Project, simply tell your solicitor or Will writer what you want to do. If you would like any further information, please contact us.

Donate by Standing Order

If you would like to make a regular donation, you can do so very simply using a Standing Order. A Standing Order places you in control of the amount you donate. It is an instruction from you, to your bank, to pay a set amount, at regular intervals, either for a specific period of time or until you cancel it.

To set-up a regular standing order, please complete and return this form to janemelling@wirralark.org.uk: Standing Order Form

You can also set up ‘regular’ donations via Paypal or JustGiving. See the relevant section for details.

Donate by Cheque

Donate by post. If you would like to send a cheque, please make payable to ‘Wirral Churches’ Ark Project’ and send it to – Finance Department, Wirral Churches’ Ark Project, The Grand Trunk, 43 Old Bidston Road, Birkenhead, CH41 8EL.

Donate Cash

We accept cash donations which can be handed in to our staff at reception.

Donate through PayPal

Wirral Ark has a Paypal account which is set up to receive donations. Our email address is donations@wirralark.org.uk or click on the following Donate button which will automatically take you through to Paypal where you can donate.

Give As You Live

Give as You Live is a platform that allows you to simply donate every time you shop online. You don’t pay anything extra, you simply make your purchase, and a percentage of the sale is made as a donation to us. Give as You Live is a very effective way of supporting our charity. Register at: https://www.giveasyoulive.com/signup/choose-charity and simply search for ‘Wirral Churches Ark Project’.

Gift Aid; Make Your Donation Go Further

The Government operates a scheme called Gift Aid that allows charities to claim the basic tax rate on every pound donated. So, for example if you donated £100 to Wirral Ark, it means that you’ll actually be giving us at least £125.

Giving under Gift Aid means that so much more money can be raised at no extra cost to our donors.

For individuals, the Gift Aid rules require the completion of a Gift Aid Declaration Form. This provides us with the minimum information required for us to be able to claim Gift Aid on a donation.

Please return completed Gift Aid forms to us either via email: janemelling@wirralark.org.uk or in the post to Finance Department, Wirral Churches’ Ark Project, The Grand Trunk, 43 Old Bidston Road, Birkenhead, CH41 8EL.

Download the Gift Aid Declaration form here: Gift Aid Declaration

Where Your Money Goes

Wirral Churches’ Ark Project is a registered charity and operates on a ‘not for profit’ basis. Although we do receive a level of central funding, we do rely on donations to fund the vital development and improvement of our facilities.
